Name: Rey
Canon: Star Wars
Canon Point: Right after Rey and Kylo Ren fight over a lightsaber
Age: 20ish

Spoken language(s): Rey probably knows several galactic languages I'm not even sure of thanks to meeting offworlders on Jakku, but she definitely speaks what counts as basic in her world as well as binary (droid) and Wookiee.
Username: falcon

History: here
Personality: Despite growing up alone in a harsh environment, Rey isn't a harsh and cruel person like a lot of others on Jakku. She's generous and truly does want to help those in need, which is how she meets both BB-8 and Finn. At first, Rey was so afraid of leaving Jakku that it held her back. She remained on a planet where she had no prospects because she lied to herself every day and told herself that her family would come back for her. That one day she wouldn't be alone anymore. This led her to being reluctant to actually leave the planet, even when she knew that the Resistance was an important cause to take up with. Rey had to stop lying to herself and accept that no one was coming for her in order to move on in life, and more recently she had to accept the cruel reality that her parents were nobodies who didn't want her.

Even with knowing that, Rey accepts her role as being part of a greater plan. She understands that she's meant for more than anything waiting for her on Jakku, and she's able to easily adjust to having a new role in life. Being able to adjust to anything is one of Rey's greatest strengths. She's a very resilient person that won't back down from something, even when everyone is telling her to. This stubborn nature can lead her to getting in trouble a lot of the time, but her instincts are also often right and lead her to helping others and saving the day.

Another big part of Rey's personality is that she often sees things in black and white. She's still learning there are shades of grey in between good and bad, light and dark. After recently being faced with many truths related to people she had labeled as good and bad, she's starting to understand that the initial truth of a situation may not be the only one. Nothing reflects this for her more than Kylo Ren. While she initially hated him and wouldn't have hesitated to kill him, now she's determined to help him and save him by getting him to choose light over the darkness. Is it necessarily the safest course of action? No, but Rey is often reckless. She really just wants to save all the people and is optimistic enough to think she actually can help save Ben Solo.

A common misconception about Rey is that she's naturally just given all these great things about her and it isn't realistic. Apart from her gift with the Force, everything Rey possesses talent wise is because she's had to learn on her own to survive. Rey is a very resourceful and intelligent person, and she's capable of far more than most people expect her to be. Rey has struggled her entire life, and still is seen struggling learning to use the Force. She works tirelessly to try and prove herself capable.

Her personality can be seen by some as grating. She can be curt and short with others, and doesn't have the best skills with social cues or etiquette. I imagine her hygiene isn't the best either, because what are showers when you can just scrub off with sand and call it a day? She's rough around the edges because of her upbringing, but she softens the more she gets to know others. While she's still quick to temper and is extremely hard headed, she's more willing to listen to the opinions of others without shutting them down completely. She's also more willing to be tactile with others. When she first meets Finn, she won't even let him grab her hand. Now she's willing to hug others and doesn't snap at (everyone) that touches her.

Overall, Rey is a character that's still growing and developing. She's at a phase in her life where she's moving on from the past and attempting to ensure a chance at survival not only for herself but for countless others in the galaxy. It's a huge weight on her shoulders, but she handles it as gracefully as possible considering the way she grew up alone. She has a lot of inner demons to face and get past, and this is shown leading her toward the dark side. She's drawn toward it but never gives in, never lets it compromise who she is and what she believes in. Her time in game will help her grow and develop more, and will help her learn to exist in a community rather than entirely alone.

Abilities/Skills: Girl's got some great scavenging skills, and she's really great at working on droids. She's got a pretty natural understanding of how machines and robots work, so she's a great mechanic and amazing with weapons too. She's also a good pilot, and is talented at fighting. Her weapon of choice is her quarterstaff. Growing up the way she did means her survival skills are impressive, but I guess her strongest skill would be that she's a Force user. An incredibly powerful Force user that is a natural with a lightsaber, but lacks the extensive training that other Jedi received. So it's a strength but could also be a major weakness.
